Barclays Investors Warn on Lavish Bonuses

Following the controversial decision of RBS to award chief executive–Stephen Hester a near-£1m bonus for 2011 on top of his £1.2m salary, public outrage over bank pay has risen this week.
Some biggest shareholders of Barclays have warned the bank that they will not accept higher payouts to the chief executive–Bob Diamond or its senior investment bankers. As a result, the board of the bank is urged to end its lavish bonus culture.
