Increasing People Seeking Debt Restructuring
A record 150000 people are expected to be declared insolvent during 2010 with more than a thousand people a day seeking debt restructuring. Consumers are struggling to cope with the debt mountain they have taken on at a time when unemployment is rising, warn practitioners.
A total of 98568 people were made bankrupt or took out an individual Voluntary Arrangement or Debt Relief Order during the first nine months of 2009.
